Join us for a two-hour workshop at the Bundaberg and District Neighbourhood Centre and learn about the myths and facts of autism and the evidence behind early intervention.

We’ll also explore what challenging behaviour is, why children engage in it and what to do about it.

This event is perfect for families with a suspected or new autism diagnosis and allied health professionals.

  • First hour - About Autism: what is autism, myths about autism, diagnosis of autism, evidence-based treatments for early learners diagnosed with autism
  • Second hour - Foundations of behaviour: what is challenging behaviour, why children engage in challenging behaviour,  and what to do about them

Lights refreshments provided, everyone is welcome.

 

About our presenter: Nicole McKillop, Senior Behaviour Analyst

Nicole is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) and holds her Master in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA). Nicole has supported individuals with an autism diagnosis for over 13 years, in particular helping young children access functional and practical supports that promote their independence.
