AEIOU’s Townsville centre caters for up to 18 children with autism on a full-time basis, working across three classrooms. The centre is home to recently refurbished playground, complete with new resources, including balance bikes and a vegetable garden, all of which prove to be a delight for the children. This is the only early intervention service of its kind in North Queensland.
The centre is managed by Emma Bowsher, who joined AEIOU Foundation in 2013. Emma has a thorough understanding of the early intervention program and is dedicated to supporting children with autism and their families in Townsville. Program Manager Enia Alberto manages the therapy program and is a qualified Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA). She also holds qualifications of a Bachelor in Psychology and a Master in Special Education, and has more than 10 years experience working with children with autism.
This centre is home to a beautiful community, which raises funds and donates resources on a regular basis, also taking part in signature events such as Take a Hike in droves.
