AEIOU Sunshine Coast

Contact Details

AEIOU’s Sunshine Coast centre in Sippy Downs is unique, in that it not only has the capacity to support 22 children with an autism diagnosis but also has a day care and kindergarten program to support neurotypical children.

Located on the University of the Sunshine Coast campus, this centre features four classrooms, including a motor skills room and a nursery (catering for children from six weeks to six years of age). The centre benefits from open spaces and visual access to nature and it’s not uncommon for children to spot wildlife such as wallabies, kangaroos and birdlife.

The structure of the autism-specific program is consistent with the rest of AEIOU’s early intervention service, and children have opportunities to engage with children from across all classrooms during break times. Many children have siblings who attend both the ‘mainstream’ childcare centre, and there are many opportunities to support the development of play and social skills with peers.
