AEIOU is seeking an exceptional people orientated Chief Executive Officer to manage, lead and develop a dedicated team of professional staff.
The Chief Executive will continue the development of AEIOU and strategically plan for its future which includes maximizing fundraising opportunities. You will have the passion and commitment to "make things happen”, combined with strong leadership qualities and an entrepreneurial outlook. Preferably, your proven track record of achievement in the commercial sector is balanced by participation in community activities. POSITION DESCRIPTION
The position reports to:
The Chairman and AEIOU Board.
Purpose:
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is the key contact between the Board, AEIOU management team and employees. In addition to being responsible for the day to day management of AEIOU, the CEO will also be responsible for providing leadership in the development, review and implementation of the AEIOU strategic plan in conjunction with the Board and the AEIOU management team. The CEO will also play the lead role in developing and maintaining relationships with the appropriate State and Federal bodies along with the key corporates and business houses.
Key responsibilities:
· Lead the development, implementation and review of the AEIOU strategic plan with the members of the AEIOU management team.
- Ensure that the business plans covering each centre are linked into the overall strategic plan.
- Be understanding and supportive and work collaboratively with the AEIOU parties at all timeS.
- Prepare in an accurate and timely manner the monthly Board papers. Ensuring all reports are attached ie: Education, Fundraising, Finance.
- On an ongoing basis monitor all aspects of revenue and costs to ensure budgetary levels are maintained.
- Ensure that any new projects are planned and managed in a professional and business like manner with appropriate checkpoints.
- Work with the Fundraising Manager and committee to develop new or enhanced fundraising activities.
- To play the lead role in business development to ensure increased income.
- Ensure that all activities are managed in a manner that does not detract from the AEIOU image and profile
- Discuss with the Board any proposed changes in policy or direction of AEIOU.
- Ensure that AEIOU promotes accurate and meaningful information on its education and support programs.
- Be available at all times to represent AEIOU at all levels of the community, business and government.
- Build and develop the sound public image of AEIOU through business, media and other appropriate areas
- Be proactive in the area of advocacy for the benefit of children and families.
- Ensure that all legal and constitutional requirements are adhered to.
- Ensure that all staff have clear and up to date position descriptions and are coached and mentored at all times.
- Be aware of and work within the AEIOU policies and not for profit guidelines.
- Apply the AEIOU core values in all activities.
- To hold monthly management meetings with minutes ensure what, by who and when.
People management:
- ·Be actively involved in the recruitment, development and training of all the AEIOU team.
- Coach and counsel all direct reports in an appropriate and timely manner.
- Conduct and record yearly performance reviews as well as personal development discussions with all direct reports.
- Ensure that all AEIOU staff work within the AEIOU policies and procedures and apply AEIOU values in their daily activities.
- To be seen as the leader who provides inspiration and leads by example.
