Let's get awesome for autism!
Show how much you care about children in our community who have been diagnosed with autism!
On 1 June 2018, Australian schools, workplaces and communities are invited to do something a little bit crazy, fun and totally AWESOME to send a big message that we care about kids with autism, and believe in an inclusive and supportive community.
This is your opportunity to promote autism awareness and acceptance, and to raise funds for AEIOU Foundation’s early intervention program. There is no cure for autism, but research shows the earlier the intervention, the larger the impact on outcomes.
This is AEIOU Foundation's second year of getting awesome for autism. Last year we saw hundreds of school students, teachers and businesses band together to raise funds... let's get thousands of people involved this year!
Sounds awesome! How do I sign up?
It's easy! Simply chat to the person in charge at your school, workplace or community group.
Once you've been given their seal of approval, telephone Christine Birnie (AEIOU Events Specialist) on (07) 3212 1110 or select a button below. Upon registration, we’ll post an info pack with tips on activities, events and promotion of your event.
1 June doesn't suit... can we get awesome another day?
No problem at all. You can get awesome any day! Simply let us know the date you're getting awesome once you've set it.
How can we get awesome?
Getting awesome is easy! There are so many options for schools, workplaces and community groups. Holding a dress up day is always fun, and can unite everyone when there is a common theme (e.g. superhero). If you want to make use of your brilliant event management skills, why not organise a trivia night or talent show? Teachers can use the opportunity to test some of the concepts learnt in the classroom, e.g. with a spelling bee or scavenger hunt. HR Managers can turn it into a memorable team bonding day - ride your bike to work, and at lunch time ride to the local park for a Mad Hatter's Tea Party!
How do I promote our event?
Add the event to your event calendar, newsletters, and meetings. Play this video so everyone knows why they are raising money, and to encourage them to fully participate in the event.
We'll help you with posters to display, and you can promote it on social media, and share our posts too. Follow us!...
Be sure to tag us on social media to share your awesomeness!
