Under the Jacarandas
Thank you for supporting "Under the Jacarandas" 2009
With a backdrop of purple jacarandas and red flame-tree, this year's event, held at Gip's Restaurant was a day not to be missed. Local jazz musicians Libby Rosentreter & Melissa Forbes set the tone for a relaxing and enjoyable afternoon of sunshine, fine food and wines, great prizes and good friends.
Our guests dressed in style for the occasion, donning their favourite hat or headpiece and for a bit of fun, the Hat-Tastic competition saw a large number parading their creations for Best Hat Prize. Other lucky winners walked away with our major prizes including a $4000 Tahitian pearl necklace donated by Anthony's Fine Jewellery and a stunning hat by international milliner Johanna Guerin and many guests enjoyed bidding on the fabulous array of silent auction items.
The event was once again a huge success and we look forward to seeing everyone next year. Stay tuned for more information
Thank you to all our sponsors and supporters. We are extremely grateful to you all.
All proceeds from Under the Jacarandas go to the Lynn Wright Memorial Fund
The Lynn Wright Memorial fund was established to commemorate the passion and support shown by Lynn to her daughter Louise Morton and her husband James as they established AEIOU. Funds raised for the Lynn Wright Memorial Fund provide placements for children across Queensland to attend AEIOU who otherwise may not have had the opportunity.
Remembering Rhonda Greensill
In late June this year, a dear friend and passionate advocate for AEIOU in Toowoomba passed away. Dr Rhonda Greensill was 41 when we lost her but her legacy lives on in the AEIOU Rhonda Greensill Centre in Harristown. We miss you Rhonda and thank you for the difference you've made.
