Paddle For Kids

Paddle For Kids

Thank you to everyone who attended Paddle for Kids and helped make this event a huge success for the AEIOU Foundation.  Through the generous donations and fundraising efforts of the teams involved we raised more than $28,000 to help provide our early intervention and learning programs for children with autism.

The rain stayed away and we were lucky enough to have a day of sunshine for the 35 teams who competed for the coveted “Golden Paddle” award.  There was some strong competition amongst the teams and plenty of fun to be had by all as they progressed through the heats and semi-finals before it was down to eight teams in the grand final. Battling it out all the way to the line, Millinium Capital Managers were too good and took out the win ahead of the Kayak Kings.

We would also like to thank our event ambassador – kayak Olympic gold medallist Clint Robinson – for helping out on the day and showing everyone how it’s done! Thanks also must go to Riverlife for providing all the equipment and professional supervision on the water and our celebrity guests including Ken Wallace (kayak Olympic gold medallist), Robbie Copeland (previously from the Brisbane Lions) and Nathan Rimmington (Queensland Bulls player).

Stay tuned for details on our Paddle or Kids 2011 event!
