Leading Toowoomba Identities TAKE A HIKE

On Sunday 29 May 2011, a group of dedicated business and social leaders in Toowoomba will take part in the inaugural Take a Hike Toowoomba challenge. Spanning 40 kilometres over nine hours, the goal of the challenge is to eliminate the funding deficit at AEIOU Foundation’s Toowoomba centre and to raise awareness for children with autism. Read More

New Study Places the Cost of Autism Spectrum Disorder at up to $11 billion

A study by Synergies Economic Consulting that shows the total cost of Autism Spectrum Disorder for the Australian community is in the order of $7.2 to $11 billion each year. The full report, which will be released later in April bases these figures on the lifespan of each person with an autistic disorder that has not had access to early intervention, resulting in the need for lifelong allied health support.
