Exquisite High Tea Under the Jacarandas in Toowoomba
AEIOU Foundation will mark the launch the Toowoomba Spring Races season with an exquisite High Tea as part of its annual Under the Jacarandas event at Gip’s Restaurant on Friday 21 October 2011 from 9.30am.
The event raises funds for the Lynn Wright Memorial Fund which provides financial support for children with autism that may otherwise be unable to attend AEIOU.
Hosted by former WIN News presenter Marita Ramia, guests will be treated to a morning of live music performed by local musician Madeline Page, along with champagne and fine food, coupled with great company while raising funds for children with autism.
AEIOU Foundation co-founder and Chair of Lynn Wright Memorial Fund, Louise Morton said the event will be an elegant yet relaxed affair, providing an opportunity for like-minded ladies to mingle and treat themselves to a wonderful morning with friends.
“We’re looking forward to joining our friends in Toowoomba for this event, it’s a great opportunity for the community to get together and is certainly a favourite on our calendar,” Mrs Morton said.
“This is truly a lovely morning out for both ladies and gents. This cause is very close to my heart, and we host it each year in honour of my mother Lynn Wright, who was a passionate advocate for children with autism.”
Mrs Morton firmly believes that best practice early intervention should be a right, not a privilege and that all families should have equal access to high quality learning programs, therapy and support to help children with autism reach their maximum potential.
“What many people don’t realise is that around 35% of our families enrolled at AEIOU are struggling financially, and the Lynn Wright Memorial Fund helps to ease some of the burden these families are experiencing.”
“We’re encouraging guests to wear their favourite, Spring-inspired hat or headpiece and enter our annual hat-tastic competition, to add some extra colour to the morning and be in the running to win some terrific prizes,” Mrs Morton said.
There will also be a series of fabulous prizes, including the opportunity to win a gorgeous pair of cream coloured Australian South sea pearl drop earrings with diamonds valued at $1,500 generously donated by Anthony’s Fine Jewellery plus many more stunning items to be won.
AEIOU Foundation is a Queensland-based charity that provides early intervention for children with autism who are aged two and a half to five years. After opening its first centre in Brisbane in 2005, AEIOU now operates from nine locations across Queensland.
All funds raised on the day will go towards The Lynn Wright Memorial Fund to financially support families who otherwise may not be able to attend the AEIOU program.
